Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examinations, and performing minor surgical procedures.
  • Track patient follow-up appointments, laboratory tests, and procedures to ensure timely and effective care.
  • Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by healthcare providers.
  • Complete necessary forms and requisitions for referrals and lab testing, including accurate CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  • Provide patient education and answer questions to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, or Medical Assistants.
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Iowa for Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistants and AAMA, NCCT, RMA, or NHA certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
