Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at AmeriCold Logistics. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our maintenance crew and ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance crew to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Respond to escalated issues and emergency repair orders in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders as needed to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, doors, dock boards, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work.
  • Inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
  • Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
  • Prepare and issue work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments for maintenance staff.
  • Provide guidance and support to maintenance staff in handling difficult or complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Certified in all RETA Courses (External hires must complete all 8 courses within the first 24 months)
  • HAZMAT certification required
  • 2+ years maintenance mechanic experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance
  • Fully competent to a high degree in mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to supervise and inspect work performed by all levels of maintenance associates
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including on-call
  • Willingness to develop a mentoring relationship with subordinate employees
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to perform several hours of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching or bending
  • Manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business
  • May require visiting facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
  • May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lift, carry, position, or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Requires the use of various electronic tools
  • Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions
