Administrative Support Specialist

At Exeter Health Resources, we are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical office environment, providing exceptional administrative support to physicians, clinical staff, and patients. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, directing inquiries, managing patient referrals, data entry, medical records support, and maintaining office supplies.
Responsibilities- Utilize excellent customer service skills to perform daily administrative duties, including greeting/check-in/check-out, scheduling patients, answering telephones, and taking messages.
- Collect co-pays, patient balances, verify insurance eligibility, and update patient demographics to meet performance metrics as assigned by standard work.
- Process payment and adjustment transactions, balance daily journal, and close batches every day. You may be asked to prepare and deliver bank deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Mentor and train new staff members.
- Provide patient referrals (with physician direction) or ensure appropriate referrals have been obtained for required visits in specialty offices.
- Assign new patients to a provider and care team to establish a care partnership, ensuring scheduling consistency for their care team.
- FOLLOW all standard work protocols and complete order and referral reconciliation as needed.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to patients' comfort, confidentiality, and concerns while maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients and families according to provider and CORE standards.
- Provide coverage for other Core offices as requested.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in a customer service environment.
- BCLS within 6 months of hire.
