Job Summary

The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and accurate manufacture of all NLX products. This position is responsible for overseeing the compliance of all processes and procedures, as well as personnel activities such as schedules, quality, productivity, and documentation within the production areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for department leads, including recommendations for hiring, terminations, training, work allocation, problem resolution, and developing them into future supervisors.
  • Ensure proper training and adherence to all GMPs, SOPs, GDPs, HACCP, FDA, OSHA, and SQF-9 standards.
  • Coordinate with the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure all cleanings are scheduled and conducted as needed.
  • Provide continual growth and higher performance through training and mentoring of the production staff.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop schedules that achieve the production plan and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Monitor production schedule to adjust staffing, fill product orders, and CIPs when necessary.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Ensure that production packets are properly completed, data is accurate, and is turned in timely for work order close to provide a timely report of the previous day's production.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor(s) and Production Manager to schedule time for preventative maintenance to ensure minimal interruption to production.
  • Help maintain equipment by identifying issues and submitting maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure production employees continually cross-train to ensure full coverage.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource Manager to resolve personnel problems, investigate issues, identify solutions, and recommend actions.
  • Assist the QA Manager and Production Manager in updating, creating, and implementing SOPs.
  • Ensure adequate stock and serviceability of necessary production supplies and equipment; recommend purchase of materials, supplies, and/or equipment as appropriate.
  • Propose and oversee the implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve quality, efficiency, and eliminate waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure employee safety, product integrity, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate good judgment by reacting to unsafe acts or conditions by making them safe or reporting them to those who can correct them, and documenting the correction.
  • Perform assigned tasks while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Monitor and coordinate the accurate and timely fulfillment of manufacturing orders.
  • Ensure all inventory records are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Collaborate with HR to keep department job descriptions up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
