Key Responsibilities:- Recruitment & Staffing: Lead recruitment efforts across all levels of the organization, manage employee onboarding, and oversee separations.
- HR Administration: Administer the Employee Handbook, ensure adherence to company policies, and manage employee attendance, payroll, and benefits, including health, dental, 401(k), COBRA, and more.
- Employee Relations: Act as a resource for employees to address concerns, resolve complaints, and answer HR-related questions. Bridge management and employee relations by handling grievances and other issues.
- Performance Management: Ensure timely performance reviews, support employee development, and assist department managers in handling employee issues.
- Health & Safety: Oversee EH&S operations, including monitoring chemical, physical, and biological hazards, conducting safety inspections, and implementing safety measures for equipment and materials.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Develop and monitor emergency action plans and manage hazardous material communications.
- Training & Development: Facilitate worker training on safety, health, and environmental issues, and support the company's compliance programs by investigating accidents and preparing reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements, including creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for new and existing processes, managing equipment maintenance, and implementing systems to track and evaluate worker injuries.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong employee relations and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. In-depth understanding of labor and employment law and HR best practices. Experience with HR systems, databases, and compliance requirements for Export Control (22 C.F.R. §120.15). Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities. Accountability, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and achieving high-quality outcomes.
Applicants must meet the definition of a US person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 for Export Control compliance requirements.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:- Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional use of hands for handling and reaching. Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment: Primarily office-based (75%) with some time spent in manufacturing areas (25%). Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
