We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian, Facilities and Campus Services Specialist to join our team at Wake Forest University. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our campus facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Perform general custodial duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors, dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork, and cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies.
- Waste Management: Empties and cleans waste and recycling receptacles, and picks up paper and trash.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleans relight glass, windows, and walls, and cleans decks, balconies, sidewalks, offices, laundry rooms, and common space areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Sets up, moves, and arranges furniture and equipment, and turns out lights and locks doors and windows as required.
- Supply Management: Unloads supply deliveries and organizes materials as needed.
- Special Projects: Works on special projects and cleans other facilities as assigned.
- Reporting and Compliance: Reports all matters of safety to the Supervisor, and follows all University and departmental policies and procedures.
- Education: High school graduate plus one year of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical Abilities: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
- Environmental Conditions: Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and hazards.
- Experience: One year of work experience in a facilities or maintenance role.
- Skills: Ability to read and understand safety procedures, cleaning instructions, and schedules, and ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and hazards. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
