Job Title: Seasonal Gate Attendant

We are seeking a Seasonal Gate Attendant to join our team at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate. As a Gate Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our visitors have a positive experience on the property.

Job Summary:

The Seasonal Gate Attendant will be responsible for welcoming visitors, collecting entry fees, and educating them about the Castle Hill experience. You will also handle cash and process credit card transactions, keeping accurate records of entries and fees. Additionally, you will perform general cleaning of the entrance booth and report any safety concerns or incidents to the Visitor Experience Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent The Trustees of Reservations in a professional and welcoming manner
• Collect entry fees and process transactions accurately
• Provide information about the Castle Hill experience and promote membership
• Manage visitor complaints and report incidents according to Trustees policy
• Track admission and reconcile daily revenue
• Report safety concerns and maintenance needs to the Visitor Experience Coordinator
• Communicate rules and regulations to visitors
• Assist in distributing and collecting feedback from visitors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred
• Strong public speaking skills to promote the mission of The Trustees of Reservations
• Able to work independently and cooperatively with other staff
• Detail-oriented and able to perform tasks safely
• Background check required

Work Environment:

The work environment will be variable, with outdoor weather conditions and indoor climate-controlled booth. Bathroom facilities are available in a nearby building. Wild animal sightings are frequent, but pose no threat.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of the job include lifting 40 pounds and being comfortable on feet for extended periods. Seating is provided inside the booth, and the ability to frequently move between sitting and standing positions is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours:

This is a part-time seasonal position, with 17-25 hours per week in high season and reduced hours in off-season. Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, and weekends may be required.
