Job Summary:

Cantemus Chamber Chorus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Conductor Associate to join our team. As a key member of our artistic staff, the Conductor Associate will contribute to the ensemble's artistic growth and development, working closely with our Artistic Director to achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct selected works and/or programs during the season, as identified by the Artistic Director.
  • Lead warm-ups, rehearsals, and sectional rehearsals as needed to ensure the ensemble's technical and artistic excellence.
  • Assist in the audition process for new singer applicants, providing guidance and feedback to help them prepare for the ensemble.
  • Participate as a singing member of the Chorus, attending weekly rehearsals to collect and organize markings and musical details.
  • Represent the Artistic Director and the organization in public performances, events, and patron interactions, as needed.
  • Participate in Cantemus outreach, master classes, and planning initiatives, as requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education.
  • Demonstrated musicianship and conducting skills, with a strong understanding of choral techniques and the voice.
  • High level of responsibility, professionalism, and a pleasant demeanor with strong communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

Part-time position; $4,000-$7,000 based upon qualifications and experience.
