Job Title: Behavior Intervention Technician

At The Arc Erie County New York, we are committed to providing exceptional support services to individuals with disabilities and their families. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavior Intervention Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the behavioral services provided to individuals within our Residential, Day Habilitation, and Education Programs. This includes assessing, developing, and monitoring behavior support plans, as well as providing direct supervision and training to staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavior support plans
  • Provide direct supervision and training to staff members
  • Monitor and record data related to behavior support plans
  • Collaborate with the Behavior Intervention Specialist and/or Coordinator of Behavior Services to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in regular department, clinical, and treatment team meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or similar population
  • Two years of experience managing individuals with problem behaviors in a school or professional setting, or combination thereof
  • First Aid Certification, CPR, and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention-Revised training (SCIP) must be taken as provided by the agency within 90 days of hire and must be maintained
