Job Summary

This is a term position with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a digital content strategy for Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks, including the creation and improvement of content, ensuring consistency, and providing strategic focus.
  • Coordinate the development of digital products, including videos, photos, graphics, web content, social media posts, digital publications, and presentation materials, to engage and inform the public through digital platform-based experiences.
  • Manage and maintain digital platforms, including websites and apps, to ensure accessibility standards are met and analytics are tracked and evaluated.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement digital content strategies and campaigns that meet NPS mission and park goals.
  • Produce and remediate digital products to meet accessibility standards established in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
  • You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
  • You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
  • If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month.
  • You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old or at least 16 years old and have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school.
  • Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, including activities such as management of information through digital platforms, products, and services.
  • Applicants must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
