Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Part Time Days

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Hickory Hills, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to work part-time days in our radiology department. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating advanced radiology equipment, positioning patients, and securing support devices to perform procedures. You will also be responsible for determining appropriate radiographic techniques, securing patient histories, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate advanced radiology equipment, including CT scanners, MRI machines, and fluoroscopy units.
  • Position patients and secure support devices to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on patient anatomy and condition.
  • Secure patient histories and maintain accurate records of procedures performed.
  • Assist radiologists with procedures, including advanced and specialty procedures.
  • Adhere to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
  • Maintain exposure badges, supplies, and cleanliness of assigned rooms.
  • Administer CPR as necessary and assure accuracy of examinations performed.
  • Perform quality control activities, including checking film quality and ensuring proper labeling.
  • Coordinate patient flow and communicate with radiologists and other personnel to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
  • IDNS license.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a general radiographer.
  • Certified in radiology and registered by ARRT.
  • CPR certification.
  • Licensed by IDNS.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Able to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high-quality patient care. High degree of technical skills. Must be able to function with minimal assistance in performing job activities. Ability to deal with extremely ill patients. Ability to lift and/or move patients. Ability to work under stressful conditions, in difficult situations. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Ability to work rotating shifts during Center hours of operation.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact, the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.

Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
