Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Ellis Medicine. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of nursing practice standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying subjective and objective data sources.
  • Evaluate assessment data to establish nursing diagnoses and prioritize patient needs.
  • Develop individualized patient care plans, incorporating realistic measurable outcomes and timeframes for goal achievement.
  • Deliver patient care as outlined in the plan, responding to patient interventions and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Assign patient care tasks to and observe care given by non-RN staff members, evaluating patient care and assessing outcome achievement.
  • Communicate patient plans of care to the healthcare team and document in the medical record.
  • Organize and communicate nursing care assignments, considering patient acuity and staff education and skill levels.
  • Assess patient teaching needs, setting goals and developing teaching plans consistent with patient educational levels and learning readiness.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and coordinate teaching plans, focusing on wellness, health maintenance, and restoration.
  • Provide a safe environment based on patient condition and age, assuming responsibility for education and self-development.
  • Participate in nursing performance improvement and interdisciplinary research and study activities, adhering to institutional policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
  • Current licensure in NYS or eligibility for a limited permit to practice required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; candidates without a BSN will be required to start a program within 2 years of hire and complete by year 6 of employment.
  • A minimum of 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Current certification in ACLS, PALS, and NRP may be required depending on unit scope.
  • Board Certification preferred.
