POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Licensed Driver (CDL) is expected to possess a fundamental understanding of construction operations and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the trucks and trailers assigned to them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with the company's safety and health policies while adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Operate equipment safely and productively, ensuring the use of safety belts at all times.
  • Follow DOT regulations diligently.
  • Receive and execute instructions from the immediate supervisor professionally.
  • Conduct daily maintenance on equipment as required (e.g., greasing, minor repairs).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to accomplish tasks.
  • Be prepared for varying weather conditions with appropriate clothing and gear.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, completing necessary documentation daily for submission to the dispatcher.
  • Aim to prevent situations that may lead to truck immobilization or damage.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the truck.
  • Load the truck using a loader as needed.
  • Adjust driving speeds according to weather and road conditions.
  • Transport the truck to job sites and fulfill customer requests professionally and promptly.
  • Accurately complete work tickets with essential information such as job numbers, lease names, load and unload times, mileage, and material quantities.
  • Submit daily logs to the dispatcher.
  • Turn in fuel and load tickets on a daily basis.
  • Report any maintenance issues encountered during use until resolved.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven commitment to safety as emphasized in JMAC Resources' core value: People First, Safety Always.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A Truck Driver.
  • Valid US Issued Commercial Driver's License.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT regulations.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Possession of a Medical Card.
  • Familiarity with the operation of trucks and trailers utilized in daily operations (e.g., belly dumps, side dumps, and pups).
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for communication at all times, day or night.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to work safely in diverse weather conditions.
  • Capability to crawl under trucks for inspections and maintenance as required.
  • Ability to clean materials from the box or trailer using a shovel.
  • Ability to perform daily inspections, including checking oil and coolant levels.
  • Physically capable of climbing up and down loaders and other equipment used in operations.

  • Valid US issued driver's license with a strong driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug and alcohol tests.
  • Availability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to work safely in all types of weather conditions.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is expected from all employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills in English with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and navigate various situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret diverse instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regular physical activities include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and talking or hearing. Climbing or balancing may also be required.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
