KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor, the Media Technician is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of media used in laboratory operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and sterilization of media while adhering to aseptic protocols.
  • Ensuring media supplies are adequately stocked, rotated, and correctly labeled to maintain integrity.
  • Documenting and maintaining records in compliance with regulatory standards such as GLP/NELAP/TNI and ISO.
  • Generating reports and summarizing data utilizing Excel, laboratory software, and LIMS while adhering to GDP.
  • Managing the autoclaving and disposal of biohazardous waste, along with cleaning and sterilizing laboratory equipment.
  • Executing various projects and additional tasks as needed to adapt to evolving laboratory requirements.
  • Performing routine maintenance to ensure the laboratory environment is well-kept.

POSITION DETAILS

This is a Full-Time position with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional weekend work and overtime may be required.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with laboratory terminology and practices.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment, particularly in analytical settings.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge of LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The position offers an hourly wage of $12, along with comprehensive and affordable benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, HSA, generous paid time off, and a matching 401k plan.
