Cardiology LPN Job Description

Howard University is seeking a skilled Cardiology LPN to support patient care, throughput, and clinical operations for the Heart Center, Cardiology Resident Clinic, and Benning Road Cardiology site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train staff on department pre-visit planning protocols
  • Conduct telephone triage and reviews referrals
  • Reconcile orders, including EKGs, Echos, X-rays, and Stress Tests
  • Compile consult notes and send to referring providers
  • Liaison for inpatient discharge and ER follow-up appointments
  • Track patients for value-based payments programs
  • Train medical assistants and manage Cardiology task in-basket
  • Collaborate with Clinic Supervisor and Clinical Director for improvement projects
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse - Required
  • DC License - Required
  • 2+ years experience in an academic health system - Preferred
  • 3+ years ambulatory nursing experience or 2 years inpatient experience on a med/surg Unit - Required
