Job Description:

As a Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstruction Consultant at Engineering Systems Inc., you will play a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of small to mid-scale client projects regarding litigation analysis and support. Your primary objective will be to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations of motor vehicles and crash sites as needed.
  • Perform engineering analysis of motor vehicle accidents.
  • Author high-quality technical reports.
  • Conduct well-developed and well-prepared client presentations.
  • Testify in court and provide depositions if requested by clients.
  • Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate project within prescribed schedule and budget scopes.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Seek technical advice and oversight from more experienced consultants when necessary.
  • Coordinate proper internal project technical reviews.
  • Work with Business Development to identify potential clients and strategies to build client base.
  • Actively participate in Business Development activities, including client meetings, presentations, and appropriate conferences.
  • Mentor earlier-career employees in growth and development.
  • Actively work to develop client base and book of business.
  • Actively seek to develop professionally in skills, experience, and industry reputation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Advanced degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years' work experience in forensic consulting, or industry consulting position. Authoring of high-quality technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications.
  • Preferred experience with heavy trucks and/or commercial vehicles.
  • Preferred experience in consulting industry. Experience providing expert testimony is highly desirable.
Computer Skills:
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional. Windows Operating System experience highly preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in graphics programs, Internet browsers, and database programs.
  • Basic Accident Reconstructive Software.
Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner and develop business both internally and externally.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and providing expert testimony desired.
  • Must be available to travel occasionally as part of the national practice.
  • Knowledgeable in use of 3D scanning and sUAS desirable.
