**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Literacy Coach to join our team at Jefferson Parish School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality literacy instruction and support to students and teachers in our elementary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Literacy Instruction: Develop and implement effective literacy programs and strategies to improve student reading skills and achievement.
- Coach Teachers: Provide professional development and coaching to teachers on effective literacy practices, curriculum implementation, and assessment strategies.
- Support Student Learning: Analyze data to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions to support student reading growth.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective literacy program.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with research-based literacy strategies and best practices to inform instruction and coaching.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified K-5 ELA teacher.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, curriculum design, and assessment strategies. Ability to analyze data and develop targeted interventions.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and students.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands: Sitting is required most of each work day. Must be able to operate office equipment and occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Travel: Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations, and meeting sites.
