Position Overview
The Cybersecurity Engineer II evaluates IT security frameworks to identify vulnerabilities or design flaws and takes appropriate measures to rectify these issues. This role also involves managing security controls and conducting assessments to avert security incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement security testing and controls based on hardware/software specifications and change requests.
  • Fortify the security of current technologies, including network systems, malware defenses, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems, while researching new technologies to enhance overall system security.
  • Advise business units on security architecture and the planning of organization-wide networks and technology infrastructure.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and maintaining clear and comprehensible application and process documentation in line with departmental standards.
  • Coordinate the successful deployment and support of applications, network, and infrastructure systems; proactively identify and resolve performance issues and functionality gaps.
  • Gather and disseminate IT metrics, utilizing data to propose process enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development and communication of security standards for the organization.
  • Provide 24/7 support with on-call duties after hours within agreed service expectations.
Essential Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering or IT security incident management, including familiarity with Next Generation Firewalls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various security technologies, such as VPNs, IDS/IPS, authentication protocols, and content security gateways.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies, including dynamic/static routing, switching, and WLAN.
  • Solid grasp of the interoperability of different networking and security components.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to engage with business partners to understand their needs and articulate ideas clearly.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications: CISSP or GIAC certification is preferred.
