Position Overview

Savan Group is seeking a Financial Accounting Supervisor who possesses strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of GAAP reporting standards and accounting compliance. This role is essential for processing financial transactions within our accounting framework. The Financial Accounting Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization adheres to precise and effective accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes along with account reconciliations.
  • Generate month-end and quarterly reports, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Flow Forecasts.
  • Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed asset ledgers, and the corporate operational expense tracker.
  • Identify and resolve audit findings, accounting discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Prepare and issue monthly client invoices.
  • Review and authorize journal entries and Accounts Payable entries prepared by the accounting team.
  • Ensure accuracy in timesheet reviews and approvals as part of the payroll process.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll processing.
  • Lead project setup, task assignments, and project closure in the accounting system.
  • Direct corporate tax planning, preparation, financial statement reviews, and external audit engagements.
  • Manage the completion of annual business license taxes, 1099 forms, property tax forms, and other state and local tax obligations.
  • Compile financial data for monthly and quarterly submissions to external financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee corporate insurance policy renewals and updates.
  • Implement updates to accounting procedures and drive policy enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Self-driven and proactive, capable of initiating tasks and projects independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; highly organized and deadline-focused.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A master's degree or CPA may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
  • Proficient understanding of DCAA accounting and compliance standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with FAR cost principles.
  • Experience with various government invoicing and reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification and/or MBA is advantageous.
  • Experience with Unanet and iSolved is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience with small to mid-sized federal contractors is a plus.
