Key Responsibilities:
- Execute accounting functions including thorough review and analysis of financial documents, ledgers, reconciliations, and related accounts to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct monthly closing procedures, ensuring accuracy in entries to the Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and Income Statement accounts, along with posting necessary adjustments.
- Carry out account reconciliations, perform analytics and variance assessments, and provide comprehensive supporting documentation.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Accounting Standard Codification (ASC) in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC by applying accounting standards in the preparation of financial statements.
- Identify and recommend solutions for simplifying assumptions and accounting methods, addressing instances of incorrect GAAP/ASC application.
- Perform detailed analyses to detect, isolate, and resolve discrepancies, contributing to quality control and process enhancement.
- Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies, data entry errors, and imbalances; prepare and present actionable recommendations or proposals for policy modifications to mitigate losses.
- Conduct research to support responses to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
- Execute variance analysis and generate reports with accompanying justifications.
- Utilize specialized knowledge and experience in financial accounting and management, demonstrating a thorough understanding of techniques for analyzing and reporting financial data.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in public or private accounting, adept at applying complex accounting treatments and resolving intricate accounting challenges.
- Proven experience in researching technical accounting issues and making informed recommendations for the application and implementation of accounting principles.
- Strong proficiency in data querying, research, and reporting.
- Experience collaborating on complex projects with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate findings and conclusions clearly and concisely.
- Advanced proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Certified Public Accountant designation with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Exceptional skill in managing multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in maintaining accuracy with meticulous attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to validate the accuracy and relevance of underlying data.
- Proven skill in presenting complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
