If you resonate with our mission and vision and aspire to make a significant impact in the lives of students, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Core Competencies:

  • Belief in the potential of every student to achieve high standards, with a focus on equitable outcomes for our most vulnerable populations.
  • A growth mindset for personal development, colleagues, and students.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
  • Understanding of child development and various learning styles.
  • Proactive advocacy for necessary resources to provide high-quality support to students.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Delivering individualized or small group instruction in academic, behavioral/social-emotional, social, transition, and functional/life skills as outlined in Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) to assist students in reaching their personalized objectives.
  • Supporting teachers in fostering student engagement, inclusion, and independence within the general education classroom through the implementation of school-wide strategies and necessary accommodations/modifications as dictated by students' IEPs.
  • Collaborating weekly with classroom and/or special education teachers to tailor supports that promote student engagement and inclusion.
  • Assisting in the modification and accommodation of learning activities under the direction of the special education teacher.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress on IEP goals formally.
  • Providing testing accommodations or modifications for students as needed.
  • Engaging with students' families in partnership with teachers to discuss student progress and areas for growth.
  • Participating in professional development to enhance knowledge of best practices.
  • Implementing behavior intervention strategies and plans as required.
  • Providing necessary physical support to students, including active supervision, crisis prevention, and intervention.
  • Maintaining high professional standards and adhering to all school policies at all times.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or completion of the equivalent of two years of college coursework.
  • B.A. or B.S. preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience supporting students with disabilities in an educational setting preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Time Commitment:
This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position following the school calendar, with approximately five weeks of time off aligned with school holidays and breaks.

Supervision:

Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including comprehensive health coverage and retirement benefits, along with ample time off in accordance with the school calendar. Opportunities for additional compensation may be available for those interested in summer school programs.

We strongly encourage candidates of color and/or bilingual individuals to apply. Interested candidates should submit a resume, a cover letter detailing their fit for the position, and three references. Application screening and initial interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
