Job Description

Arizona State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Audio Tech Sr to join our team. As a key member of our broadcast team, you will be responsible for providing live broadcasts, TV studio production, and online course sessions for faculty. You will also be responsible for designing and maintaining classroom instructional technology and multimedia support to ensure proper and effective operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Director/Technical Director for live broadcasts/webcasts/recordings in event space (Global Forum), TV Studio, and external events
  • Producer for events and recordings, which entails meeting with both internal and external clients to familiarize them with our AV capabilities, then perform all pre-production tasks
  • Video Engineer for designing new video switcher sessions, troubleshooting production issues, and managing NDI network equipment
  • Audiovisual Engineer for troubleshooting, inspecting, testing, and repairing of lecterns, classroom control systems, projection, sound systems, conference/huddle rooms, Global Forum, and collaborative conferencing
  • AV Systems Design Engineer for consulting and researching on the selection, purchase, installation, and integration of instructional and broadcast technology in new and renovated classrooms, team rooms, huddle and conference rooms, TV studio, and Global Forum
Requirements
  • Five years technical training in the operation, design, or maintenance of broadcast audio with four (4) years experience operating broadcast systems for live TV
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cross-platform environments, technology trends, and functionality changes
  • Experience in reviewing changes within subject areas, working with all stakeholders to support needs within established standards, and guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of broadcast engineering, digital and analog communication systems, and digital television
  • Experience in repairing hardware, software, and other broadcast technology systems, operating and setting up broadcast equipment and transmission links
  • Evidence of effective communication with a variety of individuals, working effectively in a variety of work locations, and resolving issues and problems
  • Experience in operating and programming software for Vizrt, Blackmagic Design, Behringer, LiveU, Panasonic, Extron, and Biamp
  • Experience in Crestron panel design, Toolbox, and NVX Director, as well as advanced project management skills and proficiency in Ghantt charts and MS Project
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video and audio measurement tools, such as waveform, vector scope, frequency analyzer, audio gain structure, and parametric equalizers
  • Experience in AutoCAD or equal design tools, as well as ability to read and markup signal drawings, floor plans, and architectural elevations
