At Element Fleet Management, we're redefining the fleet management industry to be people-first, then business. We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our operational accounting department and help us deliver an exceptional client experience.

About the Role

We're seeking a process-oriented individual with a proven track record of success. As the Senior Accountant, you'll verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions, support month-end and year-end close processes, and analyze, summarize, and present financial information to senior managers.

Responsibilities

* Analyze and present financial information to senior managers
* Produce error-free accounting reports and present results
* Participate in setting financial standards and internal and external audits to ensure compliance
* Plan, assign, and review work of Staff Accountants
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
* Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to maximize efficiency and save costs

Requirements

* BA/BS degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field of study
* Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including the month-end/year-end close process
* Experience with general ledger functions and creating financial statements
* Experience developing basic SQL queries using applications such as Power BI, Alteryx, Access, or IDEA
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook). Advanced proficiency in Excel
* CPA or desire to pursue a plus
* Public accounting (Big 4) experience desirable
* Lease accounting experience desirable and/or experience in the financial service business desirable
* Experience with SAP and Blackline desirable
