Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and want to be part of a dynamic healthcare team.

The successful candidate will assist with direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel, promoting a positive and safe environment for patients, families, and coworkers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues by providing exceptional interpersonal skills and communication.
  • Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient data, including vital signs and medical records, to inform clinical decisions.
  • Recognize and report changes in patient condition to registered nurses, ensuring timely interventions and quality care.
  • Provide personal care assistance with activities of daily living, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Assist with skin care, including repositioning and wound cleaning, to prevent complications and promote healing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to safely and effectively transfer patients, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, contributing to a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; licensure as a Nursing Assistant in Tennessee preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
