About the Job

This is a unique opportunity to utilize your clinical and administrative skills to help keep employees healthy and safe on the job. As an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will oversee and provide direct patient care and treatment, perform medical examinations, integrate with the local business, support the site emergency response program, and promote health and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Treat minor work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses for employees onsite
  • Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty)
  • Dispense over the counter and prescription medications in accordance with pre-established standing orders to employees with minor work-related and non-work-related concerns (back pain, headache, pharyngitis, etc)
  • Provide support and case management for both work-related and non-work-related conditions for the purposes of reducing illness and absenteeism
  • Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyperglycemia, and hypoglycemia
  • Promote wellness/wellbeing initiatives at the site
  • Respond to emergencies on the campus as needed
Requirements
  • Must be able to work at least 3 days per week between Monday and Friday: Mondays are for sure needed and can be flexible on the two other days
  • Current BLS
  • National Certification (ie AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
  • Computer skills with previous experience using EMR
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach, and counsel patients and interact with clients/employers
