Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Optum Full time

CARE Counseling, a part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Licensed Outpatient Therapist to join our team in the Twin Cities area. As a clinician-led care organization, we are revolutionizing the way clinicians work and live.

We are committed to making healthcare better for everyone. Our Behavioral Care Team is dedicated to creating an overall positive atmosphere with other staff and clients. As a member of our team, you will be an integral part of our vision to provide high-end medical service, compassionate care, and industry-leading solutions to our most vulnerable patient populations.

The role offers flexibility in the number of billable hours worked per week and can choose to either work onsite or in a hybrid work model. If you are able to work onsite at least 2 days per week, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, as well as work in the office as needed.

This position requires regular intakes, diagnostic evaluations, preparation, and monitoring of treatment planning while engaging in appropriate client therapy practices and following guidance provided by one's supervisor.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing intakes, diagnostic evaluations, preparing, and monitoring treatment planning
  • Forming effective therapeutic alliances and supporting each client's unique needs and goals
  • Demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and modeling as it relates to the individual's goals, treatment plan, and diagnosis
  • Engaging in crisis interventions, stabilization, and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional and/or behavioral responses
  • Timely and accurately documenting all client interactions
  • Providing one-to-one supportive counseling, observing client behavior, physical and emotional symptoms, and performing behavioral management interventions as needed

This role also includes participating in creating an overall positive atmosphere with other staff and clients, attending and actively participating in group consultation, team meetings, and other meetings as required by position, demonstrating preparation, timeliness, and professionalism.

To be successful in this role, you will need to maintain a full client caseload and additional responsibilities as assigned, resulting in an average quota of 28 points weekly or designated work model.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, and opportunities for growth and development within the company.

You must have a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Behavioral Science/related field (Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family therapy, Social Work, Education, etc.) and an active, independent clinical license as a Mental Health Professional in the State of Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LICSW, LMFT).

A basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is also required. Additionally, you should be able to adhere to one of the following work models: Onsite (must complete all work at one consistent site), Hybrid - at least 2 days onsite (must have a distraction-free space in home for home office with access to high-speed internet).

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates. This is a drug-free workplace, and candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
