We are seeking a Distribution Design Engineer to support our main electric utility client in Hawaii. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the senior engineer and will report directly to the Distribution Supervising Engineer or Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

* Perform detailed design and engineering calculations of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems to comply with the client's standards, specifications, and industry standards.
* Perform field evaluation of proposed installation sites as required.
* Verify Bill of Materials meet the requirements of the design and client needs.
* Design distribution projects with neatness and a small margin for error utilizing PLS-CADD, O-Calc, SPIDA-Calc, or Pole Foreman software.
* Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop/flicker and pulling tension calculations.
* Conduct electrical design review meetings and provide minutes.
* Interface with project management and designers during the design phase.
* Communicate and coordinate project activities with the supervising engineer, client, and other stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
* 0-6 years of experience working in distribution design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
* Experience with reading pole loading sheets and inputting information to O-Calc software.
* Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
* Basic written and verbal communication skills.
