The Clinical Psychologist is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team at Intermountain Healthcare, providing comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients. This role involves interviewing patients, administering diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with the behavioral health team.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand their needs.
- Develop and implement behavior modification programs, treatment plans, and interventions that patients can understand and comply with.
- Provide individual, family, or group psychotherapy, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop a plan of care.
- Refers patients to other services to improve their well-being, including community services, treatment programs, support groups, and psychiatrists.
- Properly documents pertinent information in regard to the patient's plan of care.
- Works with the multi-disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan to ensure continuity of care.
- Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current Utah license as a psychologist.
- Adherence to all appropriate standards of practice as outlined by the American Psychological Association, State Licensing Board, and Intermountain Healthcare.
- Experience in a behavioral health outpatient setting.
- Consideration for LCSW, CMHC, LPC, and LMFT candidates.
This role requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, necessitating the ability to verbally communicate, hear, and understand spoken information, as well as respond quickly to emergent needs or issues.
