We are seeking a skilled Health Educator to join our team at Saint Joseph Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing community wellness education programs, working closely with the assigned manager/coordinator to ensure consistent and high-quality service is maintained, and identifying opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement community wellness education programs that meet the needs of diverse populations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community organizations to provide comprehensive health education and promote healthy behaviors.
- Design and deliver educational materials, presentations, and workshops that are engaging, informative, and accessible to a wide range of audiences.
- Conduct health screenings and provide education based on test results.
- Participate in program training and demonstrate competency with program material and format.
- Schedule program classes with manager/coordinator and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Provide outcome information to designated personnel and assist in developing new education programs based on community needs.
- Model healthy behaviors and promote a positive, upbeat attitude in all interactions with participants.
- Seek answers to participant's questions and report back to them in a timely and respectful manner.
- Participate in health fairs, educational presentations, and other Community Health and Well Being (CHWB) activities as requested by the director of CHWB.
- Attend department staff meetings and participate in Process Improvement initiatives.
- Utilize computer programs as appropriate for assigned tasks and perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed.
