Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to plant managers, including financial analysis and decision support.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, waste elimination, and efficient use of inventory.
  • Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Develop and implement financial tools and processes to support plant leadership decisions.
  • Manage internal and external audit requests.
  • Engage with plant team members to learn and teach, coach and/or mentor plant finance analysts.
  • Collaborate with other plant controllers, corporate finance/accounting, and other corporate functions to standardize processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in accounting/finance field.
  • At least 5 years of cost accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Ability to split time between Auburn, AL and Statesboro, GA plant locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a large, complex global organization.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Thorough understanding of general accounting functions, cost accounting, and standard cost setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analysis techniques.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in supporting and consulting with the group/business unit.
  • Strong analytical skills, decision making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • ERP experience, SAP preferred.
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location.
