The Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mill's mechanical equipment. This individual manages the installation, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, reports directly to the mill Maintenance Manager, and sets department objectives for improving safety, employee training, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Key responsibilities include managing all maintenance systems, developing action plans to address maintenance inefficiencies and repeat equipment failures, and ensuring activities are in compliance with mill, company, state, and federal policies and guidelines.
- This role also requires effective communication, training, and supervisory skills to develop salaried department employees, as well as the ability to interface with all operating departments and investigate problems to ensure efficient facility operation.
Successful candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with 7+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within the paper industry is preferred, along with supervisory or management experience.
