Job Summary:

We are seeking a Per-Diem Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at New England Cancer Specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating appointments and procedures for our patients, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients and staff.
• Manage and resolve appointment conflicts proactively, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Complete all non-clinical orders within patient charts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Maintain provider calendars, ensuring all changes are reflected in the electronic medical record (EMR) clinic schedule.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff, providing detailed instructions for upcoming appointments and procedures.
• Actively participate in weekly team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the provider lead team(s).
• Assist in training new staff, ensuring a smooth transition and high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of completion from an accredited program for Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary Certification preferred.
• Minimum one year prior clerical and/or Medical Secretary experience in a healthcare field, oncology experience preferred.
• Exceptional customer service experience required.
• Knowledge and application of medical terminology required.
• Previous experience with electronic medical record systems required.
