Position Overview

Role Summary

The Instructor plays a crucial role in guiding academic progress and testing initiatives, as well as engaging in various educational activities. The primary focus of this position is to implement lesson plans effectively and support students in achieving their educational milestones, including credit acquisition and GED completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and identify the academic needs of students, delivering tailored instruction to a diverse group.
  • Provide lessons in core subjects and electives, aligning with educational plans and the AMIkids Blended Learning Model.
  • Encourage and motivate students to reach their educational objectives.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to redirect and coach students effectively.
  • Deliver life skills training and career readiness programs as required.
  • Oversee classroom activities and manage technology-based assignments.
  • Ensure the availability and maintenance of educational resources and materials.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of student progress, including lesson plans and assessments.
  • Act as a mentor and positive role model for students at all times.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding in various situations.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and professional work habits.
  • Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate extracurricular activities and special events.
  • Complete necessary training in crisis intervention and physical restraint as required.
  • Maintain certifications in CPR and First Aid through recognized organizations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of educational spaces.
  • Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with youth is necessary.
