Key Responsibilities
Core Duties:
- Rooming patients and documenting vital signs and information
- Assisting with scribing for the dermatologist
- Providing post-operative wound care
- Performing blood draws and suture removals
- Maintaining cleanliness and stocking of examination rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
Supporting the Dermatologist with Procedures such as:
- Surgical photography
- Various biopsy techniques including punch, DIF, and shave
- Surgical excisions
- Electrodessication and curettage
- Incision and drainage procedures
- Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
- Phototherapy
- Injections
- Koh preps
- Trichograms
- Tzank preps
- Dermabrasion
- Patch testing
- Blue light therapy
Qualifications
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse is highly desirable
Skills and Competencies:
- 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office setting is preferred
- Must maintain current state certifications, licenses, and registrations
- Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as needed
- Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and visitors
- Capable of multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and working independently as well as part of a team.
