Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse serves as an essential member of the healthcare team, contributing to the overall success of the practice by demonstrating a focus on patient care, effective communication, professionalism, and collaboration. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for designated patient populations and their families.

Essential Duties:

  • Deliver general nursing care to patients by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Secure patient consent for treatment while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Gather and document health histories, chief complaints, vital signs, and health risk factors, assessing disease conditions.
  • Provide patient care in accordance with practice guidelines, standards of care, and relevant regulations.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications, monitoring and documenting patient progress and responses. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to address any issues or concerns.
  • Educate patients and their families on health status, maintenance, and management of both acute and chronic conditions.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions using established medical record systems.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Monitor quality assurance data and manage both acute and chronic care.
  • May take on leadership responsibilities for other nursing staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical or acute care setting.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret business publications, professional journals, and technical procedures. Capable of writing reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to interpret data.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
