Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely payment from customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments for utilities and other fees and services
  • Receive monies from customers by check, cash, and credit card
  • Document payments received and enter payment information into the computer system
  • Balance the cash drawer daily and prepare and submit bank deposits
  • Maintain related documentation and reports

You will also be responsible for updating and crediting customer account records, recording and coding payments in the billing system, and entering relevant information to assist with skip-tracing or recording customer risk profiles.

Furthermore, you will monitor past due accounts, review delinquent customer listings, contact customers to investigate late or non-payment of accounts, facilitate corrective action, schedule cut-offs, research and correct errors in accounts, collect on past due accounts, and prepare related reports.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, two years of experience in accounts receivable or a closely related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

This is an exciting opportunity to join DeKalb County's team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. The salary range for this position is $17 - $26 per hour depending on experience.
