Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor to join our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department. As a Part-time CE Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of medical assisting courses, including lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
Key Responsibilities- Teach medical assisting courses, including lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet program learning outcomes
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure program success
- Current medical assistant certification or State of Texas nursing license
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant or as a Licensed or Registered Nurse
- Experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture injections, wound care, GYN procedures, direct patient care procedures, and vital signs
- Current, valid Driver's License
- Current, negative Tuberculosis (TB) test result
- Current Basic Life Support Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association
- Associate degree in Health and/or Medical field from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Two (2) years of previous teaching experience, preferably at an accredited post-secondary institution
- Clinical experience in supervising students
