Job Summary:

Tidewater Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach non-credit programs under Workforce Solutions. The instructor will be responsible for planning and teaching courses in a classroom or online environment to students with diverse backgrounds and experiences. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated competency in a relevant healthcare field, sufficient technology skills, and certification in a healthcare-related field. The instructor will also be responsible for designing and implementing lesson plans that align with learning objectives and student outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach non-credit courses in a classroom or online environment
  • Design and implement lesson plans that align with learning objectives and student outcomes
  • Develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate diverse student needs
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other stakeholders
Requirements:

  • Demonstrated competency in a relevant healthcare field
  • Sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources
  • Certification in at least one of the following: Certified Professional Coder, Registered Nurse, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, or Pharmacy
  • Ability to design and implement lesson plans that align with learning objectives and student outcomes
  • Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate diverse student needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:

Instructional experience in healthcare or a related field.
