Position Overview
The Division of General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care at Yale School of Medicine is actively seeking exceptional candidates for two faculty roles: an Acute Care Surgeon and a Burn Surgeon. These positions are designed for board-eligible or certified general surgeons with a keen interest in surgical critical care. Fellowship training and board certification in Surgical Critical Care are highly desirable for the Acute Care Surgeon role, while the Burn Surgeon should possess board eligibility or certification in general surgery, with additional training in burn surgery preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a diverse practice encompassing acute care surgery, trauma, and elective general surgery, including on-call responsibilities for burn surgery.
- The burn-focused surgeon will allocate clinical time approximately equally between burn care (both inpatient and outpatient) and trauma/acute care surgery.
- Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education of trainees, with robust support from Yale residents and medical students.
- Contribute to a collaborative environment with a team of 10 full-time surgeons who have varied surgical interests.
