Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer-Echo Tech to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). As a key member of our Non-Invasive Cardiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 2-dimensional, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiograms with minimal supervision
  • Interpret test results and notify referring physicians or house officers of preliminary reports
  • Assist in scheduling cardiac ultrasound procedures for inpatients and outpatients
  • Inventory and maintain supplies in the Echo Lab
  • Clean and maintain equipment according to Infection Control guidelines
  • Review patient charts to obtain pertinent clinical history and perform tests accurately
  • Record and review test results for accuracy and prepare test reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but Associate degree or equivalent program with Cardiovascular Technologist certification required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a major teaching institution as an Echo technician preferred
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
