Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering safe and accurate patient care to those experiencing cardiopulmonary difficulties and ensuring the smooth operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain data pertinent to therapy by chart review and physical exam.
  • Maintain knowledge of various methods of oxygen delivery, including necessary equipment, and remain alert to possible side effects.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose of each and possible side effects associated with each.
  • Maintain asepsis with appropriate hand washing between patients and follow departmental equipment sterilization procedures.
  • Assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree.
  • Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional letter required until Board meets as designated on the letter.
  • NBRC Registered (RRT) credentials required and maintained per NBRC.
  • BLS required.
  • ALS and PALS certifications required within six (6) months of employment and annual re-certification required.
  • TEAM-de-escalation training required within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP is preferred.
  • Some clinical experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing and basic computer skills required.
