Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Molding Products, LLC in South Bend, IN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and process lines.
  • Ensure equipment is operating satisfactorily and work closely with other departmental Mechanics to keep equipment and facilities in good repair.
  • Collaborate with Production to perform work in a safe and efficient manner and promote total quality and safety.
  • Order parts from approved vendors under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Work effectively as a crewmember of a team and maintain good working relations with others.
Requirements:
  • Possess the necessary skills to be proficient in tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must have experience and knowledge in preventive maintenance of process equipment, repair and adjustments for standard drive equipment, and instrumentation/controls.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow oral and written instructions and identify and troubleshoot problems in areas such as welding, plumbing, electrical, pipefitting, and machinery/equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints, understand mechanical manuals and/or electrical schematics, and lift 50 pounds, drive a forklift, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and humidity as well as outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • High school degree or equivalent required, 1 year of maintenance experience desired.
