Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to implement appropriate interventions and treatments to promote the improvement of mobility, functional ability, and quality of life for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Implement interventions and treatments as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the supervising therapist's established plan of care.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the interventions and education provided, interdisciplinary communication, and plan of care.
- Interact and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provide clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Aides.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify the plan of care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Provide patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PTA program). You must also have a current and valid NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license and registration or limited permit. Additionally, you must have current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Inpatient facility only. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills and basic computer skills are also required.
Preferred Qualifications1-2 years of experience in a Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting is preferred.
