About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Menlo School. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care and support to our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Assessments and Care: Conduct thorough assessments of student-athletes' injuries or illnesses, and provide emergency or continued care as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team physicians, coaches, and physical therapists to provide comprehensive care and support to injured student-athletes.
  • Return to Play Protocols: Evaluate athletes' readiness to return to play, and ensure compliance with established return to play protocols.
  • Prophylactic Measures: Provide prophylactic bracing and taping as necessary to prevent injuries.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches and physicians.
  • Equipment Education: Advise student-athletes on the proper use of equipment to prevent injuries.
  • Team Support: Attend athletic teams' practices and games, and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Health Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for student-athletes, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in athletic training or a related field.
  • Certifications: BOC certified and BLS CPR/AED certified.
  • Concussion Protocols: Experience with RTP concussion protocols and familiarity with California law regarding concussions.
