Job Summary

CVS Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Sterile Compounding Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and packaging medication and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Preparation and Packaging: Select, pick, package, and label medications and ancillary supplies per prescriptions, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with Coram CVS specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws.
  • Sterile Product Preparation: Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling procedures. Preparation and compounding of sterile products. Maintain the pharmacy clean room suite to USP 797 and USP 800 requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Complete appropriate documentation for inventory management and storage, including labels, log sheets, and reports. Accurate counting of drugs utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
Requirements
  • Active State Pharmacy Technician License: Required
  • Minimum 1 Year of Related Experience: Required
  • Demonstrated Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Required
Preferred Qualifications
  • One Year of Technician Experience: Preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Drug Names, and Basic Pharmacology: Preferred
  • Basic Understanding of Pharmacy Law: Preferred
  • Customer Service and Experience in Home Health and/or the Healthcare Industry: Preferred
Education
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED): Required
  • Associates Degree (Pharmacy Technology AAS): Preferred
