Youth Climbing Team Coach

Job Summary
The Youth Climbing Team Coach is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering practice content to our youth climbing teams and crafting the experience for all levels of Youth Team. This role requires a passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Development
- Work with the Head Coach and Team Coach Supervisors to plan and execute programming that results in transformative experiences for youth athletes and teaches life skills through sport climbing.
- Monitor physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing and support transformative experiences for athletes while ensuring team activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging in team members.
- Coaching and Instruction
- Coach at practices of this level of team, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.
- Provide supervision for youth climbers who will be bouldering and belaying.
- Administrative Support
- Assist Team Coach Supervisor with administrative duties for this team level, including monitoring team rosters, tracking belay training, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Effectively communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Team Coach Supervisor to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level.
Requirements
- Embody Movement Core Values and the desired culture of our youth team.
- Passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in climbing instruction commensurate with the team level being coached.
Additional Information
- This position is a Part Time, non-exempt position, including gym membership, gear discounts, guest passes, and other benefits available to Movement employees.
- Starting pay is $13/hr with room for flexibility depending on experience.
