Refugee Youth Success Coach

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated professional to support the Refugee Youth Mentorship Program (RYMP) in Dallas. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with refugee youth, their families, and community partners to provide comprehensive resettlement services.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, particularly in educational and social programs, and a strong understanding of case management principles. Fluency in a second language is highly desirable, but not required.
Responsibilities will include conducting client and caregiver assessments, establishing service plans, and providing mentoring, guidance, and psychosocial support to aid clients in reaching their goals. You will also facilitate caregiver involvement in clients' education, screen clients for emotional distress, and make referrals to the Mental Health Department as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct client and caregiver assessments to establish a baseline for growth and service provision
- Establish service plans with newly arrived refugee youth and provide mentoring, guidance, and psychosocial support
- Facilitate caregiver involvement in clients' education through phone calls, home visits, and other mechanisms
- Screen clients for emotional distress and make referrals to the Mental Health Department as needed
- Facilitate activities to teach positive coping mechanisms and track grades and attendance
- Collaborate with external organizations and internal departments to connect families to necessary resources
- Maintain comprehensive case notes and update service plans to respond to clients' needs
Requirements:
- Experience working with youth, particularly in educational and social programs
- Strong understanding of case management principles and practices
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
