Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Defense Strategy and Plans Expert, Senior to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic planning and analysis support to our clients in the defense industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems in the defense strategy and planning space.
  • Provide on-site strategy and plans support to senior-level clients, including briefs, information papers, talking points, and strategic documents.
  • Conduct outreach with other organizations to develop coordinated positions and products.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommended command positions for key national security topics in the Indo-Pacific AOR.
  • Analyze, recommend changes to, or create command strategy, plans, and guidance documents to support USINDOPACOM and DoD objectives and priorities.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience at a DoD Service-level headquarters, Component, CCMD, Joint Staff, or Interagency level.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, planning, or policy.
  • Experience in national defense planning systems, processes, and documents.
  • Experience in leading groups using the Joint Planning Process.
  • Experience with national security challenges in the Indo-Pacific theater.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with Indo-Pacific Studies or the regional plans problem set.
  • Experience with writing and coordinating executive-level products for General or Flag Officers.
  • Experience with working individually and as part of a team to develop collaborative solutions to shared problems.
  • Experience with facilitating working groups and meetings with diverse organizations.
  • Knowledge of project management processes, ensuring on-time delivery of complex deliverables, including plans of action and milestones (POA&M).
  • Ability to work independently and produce client-ready written products with little or no direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Master's degree in International Relations, Foreign Policy, Security Studies, Political Science, or Indo-Pacific Affairs.
  • Graduate of the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS), Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), Basic Strategic Art Program (BSAP), or Advanced Strategic Art Program (ASAP).
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
