Position Overview

We are in search of a qualified and proactive individual to take on the role of Corporate Law Associate within the legal sector. This position offers a unique chance to collaborate with a team of seasoned professionals in a dynamic and demanding environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in Corporate Law, open source, trademark issues, consortium formation, patent law, contract negotiation, licensing, antitrust regulations, and general corporate knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer legal counsel and direction on a diverse array of corporate issues, including governance, compliance, transactional activities, and intellectual property rights.
  • Draft, assess, and negotiate intricate commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to establish consortia and oversee open source initiatives.
  • Manage trademark, patent, and copyright matters, including application submissions, portfolio management, and infringement defense.
  • Advise on licensing strategies and facilitate the negotiation of licensing agreements.
  • Provide insights on antitrust regulations and ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Work collaboratively across various departments to identify and alleviate legal risks.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to bolster business operations and expansion.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings, if required.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
  • Must hold a valid attorney license in good standing.
  • Strong expertise in corporate law, intellectual property law, and antitrust regulations.
  • Experience with open source, trademark issues, consortium formation, and patent law.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and licenses.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Aptitude for providing clear and concise legal advice to non-legal professionals.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
