Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant - Lewiston, Augusta, Norway, Bridgton & Farmington

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Andwell Health Partners. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Physical Therapists to implement physical therapy services in accordance with the plan of treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physical therapy services in accordance with the plan of treatment developed by the Physical Therapist and signed by the physician.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist in measuring the client's functional level by applying appropriate tests and reporting results.
  • Implement client care plan activities based on treatment goals towards independent living for the client/family as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Provide clear direction to clients during visits and communicate goals for the next visit.
  • Observe and document the effectiveness of the interventions on the physical therapy visit report and report to the Physical Therapist.
  • Confers with the Physical Therapist for referrals to internal and external community resources to meet client outcomes when appropriate.
  • Treat clients to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and maintain maximum performance using appropriate physical therapy treatments, modalities, and procedures as stated in the physical therapy plan of care.
  • Teach and supervise the client and family regarding alternative techniques to complete activities of daily living, proper transfers, and positioning.
  • Instruct and advise clients, family, and other health team personnel, including when appropriate, home health aides, in certain phases of physical therapy in which they may assist the client; also instruct all of the above in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices and durable medical equipment, if appropriate.
  • Identify team members and their roles in case management activity and work collaboratively with them.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree Program for Physical Therapy Assistants.
  • A minimum of one-year recent clinical experience.
  • Current license in the State of Maine as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Must have a reliable automobile with a current Maine driver's license.
